Peaches had 6 Vertebrae that were fused in her neck. When she came to us she also had feather destructive behavior. With much effort we worked with her and created a space where she was active with her disability. She was quite the girl! She made a sound like a smoke detector and she cried like a baby when she did not get what she wanted. She recently died of a BOURNEVIRUS that unfortunately affects many parrots in captivity. She is sadly missed. For 10 years she was the dearest heart of our sanctuary. All our birds miss her. It is hard to enter the bird room in the morning and not see her "smiling" face and hear her "Hello" that made our days so much brighter.
